Ruth Ann Becker

With 37 years of experience in the industry, Ruth Ann has long been considered one of Hawaii’s leading public relations consultants, particularly on issue management, crisis communications, promotional public relations and strategic marketing. She founded Becker Communications in 1986 and has guided the company throughout its growth to become one of Hawaii’s top-three PR firms, named “Small Business Company of the Year” by the Chamber Of Commerce Of Hawaii; and honored as one of Pacific Business News’ “Fastest Fifty” companies in Hawaii.

Ruth Ann’s experience is across all major industries, and she has provided her expertise to major corporations, small businesses, industry and trade associations and non-profit organizations. She has also led two successful statewide election initiatives. Ruth Ann has been recognized by her peers with numerous awards from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), including the President’s Leadership Award, and The International Association of Business Communicators, (IABC). She also was named one of “Hawai‘i’s Enterprising Women” by the US Business Administration; and since 1999, has been included on Pacific Business News’ “Women Who Mean Business” list.

She resides primarily in Dallas now, where she provides public relations consultation to several organizations, and strategic oversight to Becker Communications in Honolulu. She is actively involved in both communities, serving on the Chaminade University Board of Regents and its marketing committee; the Sutter Health Kahi Mohala Board of Directors and its philanthropy committee; the Catholic Charities Dallas development & marketing committee; and the Dallas 200 Board of Directors, where she chairs its membership committee.
