Widely recognized as the former Department of Transportation spokesperson, Scott is a familiar face in Hawaii’s communications industry. He brings more than 25 years of communications, journalism and community relations experience to BCI, specializing in media relations, community and government relations and issue management for a broad range of clients. Throughout his career, one of his main objectives has been to establish and maintain relationships, particularly along the community level, where many issues usually begin and develop.

Prior to joining BCI, Scott served as spokesperson for the Honolulu Rail Transit Project, working as part of a team that helped get the largest Hawaii public works project off the ground from the planning stages to the start of construction. From 2003 to 2008, he acted as spokesperson for the state Department of Transportation, providing timely information to the public on various road projects and during times of emergencies. Following his graduation from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, he began his journalism career reporting for the Sun Press community newspapers and then the Honolulu Advertiser, where he covered various beats including politics, transportation, police/fire, and community news.

Outside of work, his interests include sports, American history, and playing the piano.
