The Challenge… and the Solution

In 2016, Hospice Hawaii enlisted Becker Communications to re-launch The Bucket List, a comprehensive, multimedia campaign designed in 2013 to ease the worries of community members who are fearful and anxious of the term “end-of-life.” Through an integrated, multi-pronged campaign that included media relations, marketing partnerships, advertising, speaking engagements, digital communications, collateral development, and the creative “Chalkboard Element,” our team successfully supported Hospice Hawaii’s mission to bring hope, reduce fears and impact lives while encouraging people to live life to the fullest.

Our Results

Media Relations
Developed and distributed calendar release, press release and media advisory, along with securing a wide variety of print and broadcast feature stories.

Marketing Partnerships
Secured marketing partnerships with Hawaii businesses to offer a 10 to 20 percent discount off their services for anyone who mentioned “My Bucket List.”

“The Chalkboard Element”
Implemented the “Chalkboard Element,” which involved setting up chalkboards at multiple, high-traffic locations around Oahu for passersby to write their answer to the prompt, “What’s On Your Bucket List?” Responses were filmed and incorporated in a follow-up video titled, “What’s On Your Bucket List?”

Digital Communications
Developed original content for The Bucket List campaign including marketing partner spotlights, Bucket List posts, prompts and the chalkboard video. Introduced the #MyBucketListHI hashtag via the Bucket List video posts, then aggregated all posts to the Hospice Hawaii website.
